Cleveland Blogger Prizes

So remember a certain contest that was run just over a month ago here on this blog?

Yeah, me to too. Well I announced a winner and it was buried in a blog about how awesome my child was, because this IS my blog and yes, I am the narcissist, so it's all about me me me.

So for a refresher, I was giving away a C.L.E. Clothing Co. t-shirt as a price for guessing the Addy's birth time without going over. So many of you chimed in, and 1 of you won.

Kasey Crabtree. A winner. She won the much coveted C.L.E. Clothing Co. t-shirt. As a bonus she was able to come over and meet the baby. Kasey, the clairvoyant she is, was able to guess to within 6 minutes of the correct time. 6 minutes. You know out of 1440 minutes in the day, she picked that particular minute. I couldn't believe someone could get it that close. When I was talking with her, she said, "I saw sixes, nines, threes, and so that's how I got it."

It was amazing and she won a great prize. Way to go Kasey, and for those of you on Twitter, go follow her, she has some great Tweets. She gives good Tweet, as LauraBlue would say.

So that being said, I have given out my first prize, and I look forward to hooking up with C.L.E. Clothing Co. on a future giveaway, but I have also won some stuff out there in Blog Land.

My very very very first prize comes from a very popular Cleveland Blogger Alexa over at Cleveland's a Plum. She was recently voted best blogger in Cleveland by the readers of Cleveland Magazine. She is so popular the C.L.E. Clothing Co. even made a shirt for her. She had a pow wow at her place to give these things away. The contest was genius and check it out so you can see how I won such a fracking awesome shirt.

Now that you are back, the Cleveland Food Scene has recently gotten a TON of attention. More specifically the Greenhouse Tavern. Named one of the 10 best restaurants in the country by Bon Apetite Magazine, and Chef/Owner Johnathon Sawyer was voted best Chef in Cleveland by Cleveland Scene, his wife Amelia runs a pretty fantastic blog as well as running their home lives. This couple is the dynamic duo. Amelia a.k.a Chef's Widow was selected by the Gap to be a Gap Brand Enthusiast and so they shipped her a ton of jeans and other giveaway things, along with a video camera and said, "Give our shit away".

Give it away she did. Check out how SHE gave it away, and how she got her readers [me] involved.

Well a few days ago I got my prize in the mail and off to the Gap I went. A coupon for free Jeans is amazing considering I can't afford much right now, so a coupon worth basically $55.00 is amazing, and the new Gap Jeans I got as a result are also amazing.

In closing I want to thank all of you who entered my contest, and I also want to thank Cleveland's a Plum and Chef's Widow for making me look good, and also did for free.

9-9-09

Welcome to the side bet.

This morning Wifey and I went to the doctor. Still sitting at 3cm dilated. We are officially 1 day over due for our bundle of joy.

We scheduled an induction date if the baby decides that she doesn't want to come before.

9-9-09.

My birthday.
So You Think You Can Dance Season Premiere.
The date my wife is going to be induced.

So here is the amendment to my contest.

If you have played the first contest, your guess is still the same. But you are still eligible to enter this contest.

ALL BETS ARE OFF.
When we check into the hospital on 9-9-09 at 10:30am, the first contest is null and void.

Here is what we are going to do on 9-9-09. All rules are the same. If you need a refresher, check em out here.

It's closest to the time of birth without going over the time. I will convert all times into 24 hour times, like 0001 for 12:01am or 1305 for 1:05pm. If you all guess the same times, then you are both going to get a t-shirt.

It's the side bet. If you haven't already, you still have time to guess on contest 1.

Get on it!

The Baby Pool

I was told that the reason that wifey has yet to give up this child is because there has been a lack of a baby pool. You know where everyone gets a date on the calendar for $5.00 or some crap. Then 50% of the total contribution goes to the baby and the other half goes to the winner.

Anyway, here is the Throwing Quarters version of this contest.

How to win:
-Place a comment on this post and this post alone with your guess of the baby's arrival. The entry must be in the form of a date AND time. [example: My Manager guessed 8/30/09 at 3:33pm]
-Include your e-mail with your entry. [example: username [at] domain [dot] com OR username@domain.com]
-All entries must include your name as well
-winners will be notified by e-mail.

The Rules:

1. You MUST be a follower of this blog. You can use Google Friend Connect and follow publicly, or use the Networked Blogs for Facebook or be a friend of mine on the 20 something blogger community that I have on the side bar.

2. Entry period ends as soon as my wife has gone into active labor [contractions that are 5 minutes apart].

3. Since I moderate comments, you can't see what everyone posts right away, so in the event of a tie [where people guessed the same date AND same time] then there will be multiple prizes given away.

4. If by chance you all pick the same day the tie breaker will go to the time. The winning time will be the closest time to the actual birth WITHOUT going over.

5. Winner[s] will be announced within 24 hours of the actual birth.

6. Only 1 entry per e-mail.

What do you win?

You will be winning a t-shirt from the C.L.E. Clothing Company. The design of the shirt will one of MY choosing.

Good luck and tell your friends. You can stay updated by checking back to the blog, or you can follow me on Twitter as I will be giving updates as the birth takes place. [Before I get hate mail, during the labor and delivery process, there is a lot of downtime for the Dad. At least there was with my first born. So this may give me the opportunity to keep you informed of the progress.]

For those who want more details.

The official due date is 9/1/09. My wife is currently 3cm dilated. She has been experiencing Braxton-Hicks contractions, but has only had 1 substantial contraction 48 hours ago.
